Because everything is uncertain and that's why you should tell her

you should say it because everything is uncertain and that's why you should tell her~~

Yesterday I had a long msn talk with Paige. When she asked suddenly about my "girlfriend", I kept silent for a long time, and then replied, "I feel I like her but didn't expressed it. I don't know whether I should tell her since we are going to graduate and everything is uncertain." Maybe she is more intelligent than me.

Merry Christmas to all.

These days, I have been listening to six songs again and again.
MAGIC BOULEVARD by FRANCOIS FELDMAN
Down By The Sally Garden by Emi Fujita
Pour que tu m'aimes encore by Céline Dion
The Power Of The Dream by Celine Dion
Un garcon pas comme les autres by Céline Dion

A travellog to Huangshan

I have been to Huangshan last year and wrote a travel log, which I pasted in my personal homepage then. And now I intend to keep the homepage more concise, so I decide to move it here. I read it again, and recalled my travel in Huangshan. I wish someday I will visit again. Three day is too short to understand and appreciate Huangshan.

I will have a visit to Huangshan Mountain tommorrow with my classmates, I am very excited

2006-04-01

Now, I come back from Huangshan, just enjoy some of my photos--I will tell my experience in Huangshan another day.

During my travel to Huangshan, we visited Feicui Valley ( Valentine's Valley) in the afternoon on the first day. I was very excited to see the stone with Liu Yuxi's peom carved on it, because Liu is one of the poems that I like in Tang Dynasty.

This photo is taken in Feicui Gu . The boy in red is my classmates. And have you note the round stone behind us? That is the Dan in Chinese. In traditional Chinese culture, Dan is a pill that has magic medical power. It is claimed to be able to make people live for ever.

Feicu Gu is famous for its beautiful brooks, polymorphic stones and vast sea of bamboos( see what is behind me). Maybe you know about a Oscar-winning movie named Crouching Tiger Hiden Dragon, its scenery just behind me.

Brige of Valentines. It is said that when one passes the bridge of valentines, he should not look backward. Otherwise, he will meet lots of trouble when pursying his girl.

At last we arrived at the landmark of Feiccui Gu, the big character LOVE is five meters in width and six meters in height, with Sushi's handwritting as a model.

On the second day, we started off for Huangshan early in the morning. Our journey will include Baieling, Shixinfeng, Guangming Ding and Yikesong.

It is rather challenging to climb to the peak, so when we saw the peak of Baieling, we were all very excited and stop to take photos. We believed that we could get Baieling soon, however, it proved more tiring to cover the last distance especially after you had been climbing for nearly two hours.

At last, we arrived at Baieling, higher than 1700m above the sea level, which is just behind me in the above picture. It said that in winter there accumulates a layer of snow so that it looks like a goose ( Bai e ). Standing at the top of Baieling, I looked around...

After a rest and a simple lunch at Baieling, we visted Shixinfeng very quickly because the guide complain tour time was limited. However, I can bet the scenery at Shixinfeng is the most attractive. See the following pictures, pay attention the trees.

I took this photo at Beihai Hotel near to Baierling, one of the mountain of Huangshan. The background is a large picture of Deng Xiaoping, who climbed Huangshan mountain on foot in his seventies, really a powerful guy. I was mincing his gesture, feeling that I am also a great man.

On the way to Yingke Song. The background is Old Man Jiang Fishing.

These two picture were taken at Guangming Ding. We were lucky to encounter a snow there and forgot to take many pictures,--I recorded the scencery in my head.

The big stone behind me is Aoyu Stone, Ao means turtle and Yu means fish.

I also saw the most famous Yike Song, however the pictuer is not available at present for my friends havn's send them to me yet.

Nanjing Book Exhibition

I believe in the motto "Read ten thousand books and walk ten thousand miles". Thus my traval to Nanjing Book Exhibition is a great pleasure, for which I prefer to leave the urgent application process aside for a while. During my three days in Nanjing, I have the chance to learn about how a modern book supermarket works, how people in this trade think and do business . Also I meet unfamiliar yet interesting persons. What's more, We toursaw the night scenery of Fuzimiao and eat foods there. At last, we visited Zhonghua Men and Yuhua Tai. Here is a photo recording of our journey.

The great book exhibition is hold by Nanjing Xinhua Book Publishing Group. The main hall, located in the countryside of Nanjing, looks like a large stadium

Happt Midautumn Day

It is a day later to write this post, however, as a Chinese saying does, the moon is more round on August 16th than On August 15th and the cakes are sweeter, it is never too late to sent my best wishes to friends. Happy Midautumn day!

I am very happy this Midautumn Day. I sent a short message to a girl, who is at our university but does not know me. During the last fews days of last term, I often studying in the library and happened to sit in front of her. She was quiet and beautiful. I can not deny saying that I fall in love at the first glance. In the following days, I would come to the same room in hope of meeting her. Luckily most times, she appeared there as usual. I didn't know whether she noticed me, but it was a blessful memory for me.

Soon I received her reply asking who I am. I told her the truth, and wondered how she would respond. Fifteen minutes passed and my mobile began to ring. I fetched my moble and it read, "Happy Midautumn Day". I felt so happy and I could imagine that lovely girl.

I hope I have the chance to meet her more in the last year of my colleage life and become her friends.

Black Box Record: England Made Me

After a labourious but fruitless research project, I am now free to do something I like.
During the coming up National Holiday, when most of my classmates come back home, I stay at school. It is indeed somewhat lonely. Howver luckily, I have the magic ability to enjoy loneless.

I opened music@ustc, chose a strange artist uncousiously, and turn the music on. I guess what it would be like. A soft and clean female voice came out. The voice is familiar, I said to myself. I tried to recall the voice from memory and at last I know it is Avril. I scaned the album name: Black Box Record England Made Me.

In fact, every song is worth listening in this album. I just list some for example
Ideal Home: feeling happy with quiet family life
Child Psychology: voice of a lone baby (somewhat like me)
It is only the end of world: it seems like a story

As I have mentioned above, Black Box Record's singer Sarah's voice is Avril, so if you like Avril, you should not miss it. I can say, Sarah is lady Avril and Avril is girl Sarah.

Travel to Shanghai

Last Saturday, I travel to Shanghai city. This is the first time I went to Shanghai. The Friday night is a exciting and long. I got up early and went to railway station together with Pen Jing, who would attend a audition.

We arrived at Shanghai at about three in the afternoon. My classmates Liu Ning picked up me, and lead me directly to Nanking Road. Nanking Road is a famous commercial district, full of shops, restaurants, and bars. There are many people on the road. We made a quick glimpse of the New world market. The goods are attractive but expensive.

As we are sightseeing, we talked all the time. I have not seen Liu Ning for nearly three years since we graduated from middle school. I used to doubt whether he might changed a lot these years. However, a short talk eliminate my doubt. He didn't changed a lot. He still had a lovely hasty temper.

At the end of Nanking Road, I could see the figure of Oriental Pearl Tower far from it. It is not as tall as I see in TV before. We quickly cover the last miles way and reached the Waitan. We walked slowly along the Huangpu River and looked at the Oriental Pearl Tower on the opposite bank of Huangpu River, which is the landmark of Shanghai. Maybe I am a little mature, so I didn't became excited as child. In fact, I had a feeling Shanghai is not distant and strange. I walked along Huangpu River just like I jogged along a familiar river in my hometown.

Evening came slowly. The Oriental Pearl Tower light lit on. We took a boat across the Huangpu River. This Pudong side of Huangpu River is quite different from the other side. There were many formidably tall buildings, but with few people. It is lonely there. And when we got near the approximaty of Oriental Pearl Tower, its exhibits its giantness. You need try to lift up your head to see its summit.

We came back to Shanghai Jiaotong University then.

The next day I myself went to Chenghuang Temple. It indeed has a small temple, but it is known for its crafts, pearls and food. You can find various goods there, such as paintings, wood crafts, pearls, sculpture, antiques and so on. It was a pity that I forgot to bring a camera, and what's more I had little money.

I spend my little money on food around Yuyuan. I bought a kind of small cakes called su. It is sweet, just as has been described as the features of Shanghai food. However, I found a kind of food called Ligaodong in a temporary clumsy market at the end of Shanghai Old Street. Ligaodong is icy, which complement the sweetness of su.

The third day in Shanghai is for work. And in the afternoon I made a short sightseeing of Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Tangshanian in USTC

The beginning days of every term is a time for parties. The restaurants are full of students. They happily talk with various dialect, from which you know that they come from the same place. It is really happy for us students to meet in a place far from our hometown. Usually, we have no chance to meet, not to say have a deep talk. These parties give us the chance to greet fresh students, and also the opportunity to recognize old students.

We students from Tangshan No.1 Middle School also have a such party. It is a long dinner of over three hours. We eat and talk.

And for me, I am cheerful to talk with someone who I congratulate her birthday. She is more beautiful today.

After that we enjoyed a great dinner.

Happy birthday to someone

I was alone on my way
She was celebrating her birthday
A party full of cake, candles and friends
But without me, I have no chance to say

Happy birthday!

Maybe she is alone like me
In a place far from home and family
Do her accompanies care for her deep, subtle feeling?
All are my imaginatins, but I have no chance to ask

Are you happy today?

I decided to sent a mail to you yerstoday
Simplyt to say HAPPY Birthday
As a most common friend will do.
But I can't help picturing myself as the boy
who will never be tired with saying annually to you

Happy birthday!

I sent the mail today, and leave the computer right away
Looking farword to your words, being afraid of hearing from you
I am never so nervous as today
"Let me be your common friends, that's enough",I comfort meself.

Your coming letter released me, it's a simple word: thank you plus three !!!
I am happy that we are still friends
There are fifty minutes left before tomorrow,
let me say it again
Happy birthday!

Summer Holiday Ends

Summer holiday 2007 ends. As a tradition, I put a summary here, one eye looking backward at the past and one eye looking forward at the future.

This summer holiday is not a ideal one for me.

At the beginning, I returned home and found grandma heavilly ill. I accompanied grandma for nearly half a month and then I had to leave her because I grow up and has many things to do. When on the train back Hefei, tears filled my heart. Though I pray for grandma's getting well, I can't help worrying about grandma's passing away suddenly one day while I am far away from her.

When I got Hefei, I began to work on our research project on which however I made little progress until then. I waste too much time on trivial things. Additionally, I began preparing studying abroad.

Our lab hold the first meeting tonight. We need a new beginning. Come on!

Experience Google imagine label

I tried Google Image Labeler today. I find some rules to play it well. Its interestness, in my opinion, goes far beyond the game itself, but reaches the field of cognitive science. I will than give the explanations to my rules based the psychological principle.

I first came to know the news that google push out Google Image Labeler to improve its image search, however I have no time to try it until today. I got my highest score 500 twice. For a time, my partner (Hi guy, how can I know you?) and I ranked 1st in Today's Ranking. I admit it is a little difficult for a non-native English speaker. For example, when I am playing this game, the first word come to my mind is often a Chinese word, and then I translate it into English, but sometimes I fail to find an approciate English word to describe a picture. So I am happy with my score. After all, it is interesting. OK, I find the following rules may be useful if you want to get a high score.

  • Rule 1: Type as quickly as possible, and no more than four words.
  • Rule 2: Focus on the whole, don't dive into details.
  • Rule 3: If there are some words in the picture, type these words.
  • Rule 4: If there are people, describe whether it is a man or a woman.
  • Rule 5: noun>verb>where>when>adjective
Everery interesting game must have a delicate psychological model behind it. The psychological model behind google image labeler is cognative science. [ to be continued ]

I am playing gample

These days I have been spending hours surfing the websites of Graduate school in order to find a right school in the meaning that I will be proud of entering it and it will be satisfactory of accepting me. There are so many schools and so many mentors that I can not make a choice. I am just playing a gamble.

When I decided to enter an university three years ago, I didn't have such a tough time because my family helped me and the universities are in China. But this time, I am going to study in America which I have never been and is unfamiliar with. It is said America has many good schools and more opportunities. Like the people on the boat of Mayflower, I cherish this dream and take the risk to pursue it.

This morning, my roommates, who is also preparing to study overseas, told me he dreamed that I reveived many offers last night. I hope it is a good signal to me.

Noah's First Birthday

"Good news", this morning when I opened my gmail as usual, I noticed a mail with this striking subject. It is from uncle Shi. I cannot help to read the mail. Uh ha! It is indeed a good news. My auntie delivered a boy on Aug 28th. He namaed that baby Noah Shi. The baby is 8.2 Lb weight, and 21 1/4 inches (54cm) length. I have been eagerly waiting for uncle's mail these days, partly for this coming baby, partly for his sugestions about my abroad study plan. I am evry glad, and forward the news to mom and sister at once.

I can imagine how happy uncle and auntie are now. They are living in Canda, with only a few Chinese friends and relatives. This baby begins the second generation in Canada. Congratulations, uncle and auntie!
